Try the breathing circle

Choose an exercise and a duration. The circle grows as you breathe in and shrinks as you breathe out. There is no breath-holding.

Exercise

The pace is an offer. If it feels too long or too slow, simply breathe freely and start again later.

Breathing without holding your breath

Every breathing exercise in Taceora only alternates between breathing in and out. There are no pauses and no holds. The circle on the screen shows the rhythm, so you need neither announcements nor counting.

The pace is an offer. If it feels too long or too slow, simply keep breathing freely and start again later.

The four breathing exercises

All exercises run for 1, 3 or 5 minutes. Two work without a purchase, all four with Taceora Complete.

Longer exhale

free

Rhythm in seconds: 4 · 6

Four seconds in, six seconds out. The circle grows for four seconds and shrinks for six. The easiest way in.

Double inhale

free

Rhythm in seconds: 2 + 1 · 6

Two seconds in, a short top-up, then six seconds out. The circle fills in two steps.

Slow rhythm

Complete

Rhythm in seconds: 5 · 7

Five seconds in, seven seconds out: about five breaths a minute.

Gradually slower

Complete

Rhythm in seconds: 4 · 4→7

Over the first two thirds of the exercise the exhale grows from 4 to 7 seconds and then stays there.

Which exercise fits when?

There is no right or wrong choice. As a guide:

  • Longer exhale is the easiest way in and fits well if you are breathing with the circle for the first time.
  • Double inhale adds a little variety to the rhythm without making you count.
  • Slow rhythm suits longer sessions of 3 or 5 minutes in the evening.
  • Gradually slower leads you step by step into a longer exhale; the circle follows every change.

How it works

  1. Open the Breathe area in Taceora and choose an exercise.
  2. Choose the duration: 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
  3. Follow the circle: it grows as you breathe in and shrinks as you breathe out. The breathing exercises need no voice.
  4. Sit or lie comfortably; keep your eyes open or closed.

You need no prior knowledge and no account.

For the evening and in between

One minute fits between two appointments, three to five minutes suit the evening before you turn off the light. If you like some background, let brown noise with a sleep timer play on afterward.

When it needs to be quick, there is the SOS minute: a spoken minute to settle down, right on the home screen and in the widget, and free.

Taceora is a relaxation product, not a medical device. Breathing exercises do not replace medical treatment; if you feel dizzy or unwell, breathe freely and stop the exercise.
