City rain
Complete
Rain with wind and city sounds.
Rain is made of countless single drops that merge into a broad, steady rush. There is no melody and no beat to follow, and the sound softly covers many small disturbances.
Unlike pure noise, rain changes a little: denser, then finer, sometimes with wind or distant thunder. Many people like that; to others it feels too lively. Which kind suits you is personal.
The Nature group of Taceora has four rain sounds, each with its own character:
Complete
Rain with wind and city sounds.
Complete
Rain, birdsong and thunder.
Complete
Heavy rain drumming on a small tent.
Complete
Rain and wind, heard from inside a tent.
Sounds from the Water and Noise groups add to this, for example the ocean and pink noise, which reminds many people of steady rain.
There is no right or wrong choice. As a guide:
Rain has small changes: single drops, gusts of wind, a distant rumble. A noise such as pink or brown noise stays the same all the time. Some people fall asleep better with the liveliness of rain, others with the evenness of noise.
Taceora has both, so you can compare them on a single evening. In the browser you can try the even noise first with the generator on the pink noise page.
This is how it works in the app:
Many people use rain to fall asleep, to fall back asleep or as a background while reading.
Whether rain sounds help you fall asleep is individual. Taceora is a relaxation product, not a medical device; if you have lasting sleep problems, talk to a doctor.
Four: city rain, forest rain, rain on the tent and tent in the wind. Other sounds such as the ocean come on top.
No. The ocean and warm brown noise are free. The rain sounds are part of Taceora Complete, a one-time purchase with no subscription.
Forest rain includes thunder. The descriptions of city rain and rain on the tent mention none; when in doubt, listen briefly first.
Yes. Sounds keep playing in the background, also with the screen locked, and end with the sleep timer.
